On Saturday, June 5, 2021, an older cooling tower on the fifth floor of CalArts A-block overflowed. Several specific locations were impacted. In particular, the Character and Experimental Animation areas (Film/Video) suffered significant water damage to walls, ceilings and floors as well as cubicles, classrooms, equipment and computers.

These spaces would be rendered completely unusable and required full reconstruction, forever altering the history of these studios. A set of doors in the main gallery once led to the animation studios were not reconstructed in the renovation efforts. We would like to focus on these doors as the final destination for our installation.

We used PVC pipe, vinyl, and spray paint for installation at the CalArts campus. And also prepared brochure and stickers for viewers.
